Baggins Shar-Pei Hints About Bringing a New Puppy Home

Tips On Getting a Baggins Shar-Pei Puppy

Champion Shar-Pei breeder Linda Coffee conveys secrets for bringing puppies in to the home:

Family Genes

The first thing to understand is that a dog's genetic makeup set a cap upon exactly how well-socialized it could get. Early handling as well as learning to trust are needed, but family genes are definitely more significant. The Baggins bloodline generates very tame and positive pets. This is the result of very carefully screening for character throughout three decades of breeding. They are excellent with animals both big and small. They adapt very well to living with other family pets. Some other canines possess a hereditary predisposition for mean or aggressive conduct and no amount of socialization can eradicate this.

Age

A dog's age at the time it shows up isn't as important as most people presume. Occasionally puppies that are candidates for showing might be held for observation for a few months. Once puppies in this situation arrive at a new family, they have no trouble bonding with them.

Top Dog

If there is an existing canine within the home, give the senior dog freedom to claim its dominance over the puppy, just simply shield the puppy from physical harm. It is really alright to allow for it to growl and also intimidate. You should not scold the older dog or seek to make it to become submissive. Let the senior dog to set limits for the pup so that the pup understands from the beginning the fact that the older canine is at the top of the pecking order. Allowing this normal process to proceed with no interference can help the senior canine to unwind and accept the new member in the pack.

Crates and Confinement

Their dog crate can be a safe place for any pup in a new environment. Never hesitate about using it. After a hard play session, many young puppies will happily plop down into their dog crate for a short slumber. Confining a pup in a crate can also be a good way to provide your senior dogs (as well as yourself) a much-needed escape from the energetic new addition to the family.

Cats

I don't have felines, but a lot of the homes I send puppies to do (including my son's). I have not had a pup brought back on account of an issue with cats.
